The event has an unconference format and the first step is the creation of small focused teams. Attendees should feel free to propose any topic which interests them.
Past year topics of interest included : WebKit Ports (WebKitGTK+, WebKitEFL and WebKit for Wayland), Multimedia, Media Source, Streams API, Layout, MathML, Graphics, Fonts, Servo, Epiphany.
Google confirms next Android version will use Oracle’s open-source OpenJDK for Java APIs

“As an open-source platform, Android is built upon the collaboration of the open-source community,” a Google spokesperson told VentureBeat. “In our upcoming release of Android, we plan to move Android’s Java language libraries to an OpenJDK-based approach, creating a common code base for developers to build apps and services. Google has long worked with and contributed to the OpenJDK community, and we look forward to making even more contributions to the OpenJDK project in the future.”
OpenJDK Mobile Project

The goal of this Project is to focus on porting the JDK to popular mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, and Windows. The short term goal of this project is to support the following enhancements and prepare to integrate these into a future release of JDK 9.
- JDK 9 based port (Headless).
- Support at minimum the equivalent of JDK 8 compact2 profile (in module form).
- iOS x64 and arm64 (arm64 will be provided via Zero interpreter).
- Android x86 and arm (arm will be provided via Zero interpreter).
- Windows 10 tablet apps (side loaded).
- JavaLauncher helper interface to simplify the process of including Java in Mobile applications.
- Sample HelloWorld applications and/or project templates for each platform.
